Why you should attend
This intermediate training series equips grant-funded nonprofit professionals with the tools to confidently manage grant-funded programs in compliance with federal regulations. Building on foundational knowledge, attendees will strengthen their skills in cost classification, allocation, internal controls, procurement, budgeting and reporting — helping to ensure accuracy, accountability, and audit readiness.
Ideal for those with a minimum of three to five years of experience in the grant-funded industry, this series bridges the gap between basic understanding and effective execution.
Learning objectives
By the end of this training series, attendees will be able to:
- Apply cost classification principles to distinguish allowable and unallowable expenses under federal grant regulations.
- Implement cost allocation methodologies that support consistent, compliant distribution of shared costs across programs.
- Strengthen internal control systems to mitigate risk and support grant compliance in day-to-day operations.
- Execute procurement procedures that align with Uniform Guidance requirements, including documentation and competitive practices.
- Evaluate key components of grant budgets to support alignment with program goals, regulatory requirements and funder expectations.
- Prepare financial and grant-specific reports using GAAP, cash basis and grant-funded formats to support transparency and audit readiness.
